Is the food complete? Can it be the only thing my dog eats?
Yes. The five meals are complete and balanced for the life stage on the bag, following FEDIAF nutritional guidelines, and each batch is checked by an independent laboratory. Treats and chews are complementary and should stay under 10 % of the daily amount.
Why is the food not shaped like normal kibble?
Because it is not extruded. Cooked food that is pressed and dried breaks into irregular pieces of slightly different sizes and colours between batches. Pumpkin from October is oranger than pumpkin from July, and it shows.
Grain-free or with grains?
Both. Chicken, beef and turkey recipes are grain-free and use sweet potato or pumpkin instead. Salmon & Quinoa and Lamb & Brown Rice contain whole grains, which many dogs digest very well. Neither is better for every dog, which is why the Taster Box exists.
My dog has allergies. Which recipe should I try?
Each meal has a single animal protein, so an elimination diet is possible. Lamb and salmon are the least common allergens in our experience. Write to Léa with your dog’s history and she will suggest an order to try them in.
How long does a bag keep?
Nine months unopened, six weeks once opened, stored closed in a cool cupboard. The best-before date and the batch number are printed on the back.
Do you ship outside France?
When pre-orders open we will ship to France, Belgium, Luxembourg, Germany, Spain and Italy. Other EU countries will follow in 2027. See Shipping & returns.
Can I visit the kitchen?
The farm shop is open on Saturday mornings and we run a kitchen tour at 11:00 on the first Saturday of the month. Dogs welcome, on a lead in the drying room.
Where does the name come from?
The ferns that line the lane to the farm, and the fact that Pixel has never once brought a ball back.
